About Upcycle Throwdown
This recycle recreation event is like none other! This team competition to update and creatively repurpose furniture raises funds for the good of our community. Like any great flea market flip, this event has anticipation, last-minute decision making, team work, and a celebration at the end!
Coralville Parks and Recreation is teaming up with Houses into Homes to repurpose donated furniture and have fun in the process. After the renovation is complete, the furniture will be auctioned and proceeds will benefit Houses into Homes and the Coralville Recreation Scholarship Fund.
How it works
Create a team or be a single-project upcycler.
Team upcyclers: Create a team of project designers and doers, choose a room (living room, bedroom, dining/kitchen), and register your team by June 15.
Single-project upcyclers also wanted. Register to fix up a single piece for the sale. Pick from inventory after the team competition pick on July 11, or bring in a piece from home to upcycle.
